Face the Risk
Existential risks are threatening the entire future of humanity.
Nick Bostrom, Alpbach 2012
Many theories imply that small reductions of risk have enormous economic impact. In practice, leaders may consider the value chain from a cost perspective as well as increases to the efficiency of the o verall system. A focus on risk may create new employment opportunities and become a source of innovation and sustainability. Martin Frick introduces some risk insights and will lead through the discussion. The speakers give examples of effective risk management provided by the government (Brigitte Eder), by companies (Thomas Goiser) and by organized civil society (Sebastian Mayrgündter). Finally we will discuss new ways of thinking about risk.
